Wood Porch OptionsPrimed Douglas Fir - The standard choice for a traditional painted tongue & groove porch floor. Our clear vertical grain douglas fir (not finger jointed), are primed on all four sides and two edges to ensure the proper maintenance process has begun. A second prime coat and a finish coat are recommended. Pull to length orders are typically satisfied with minimal overage.
Philippine Mahogany (Meranti) - A dense, durable and beautiful flooring option that can either be stained or painted. It is recommended wood options be sealed or painted on all four sides and two edges before installation. The Meranti porch floor should be left natural looking and sealed with any oil based product. Pull to length orders are typically satisfied with minimal overage expected.
Porch Ceiling Options
Camberra – Related to the mahogany family, this 1” x 4” edge and center bead compliments a mahogany porch floor beautifully. It is recommended that exposed wood products be treated with an oil based coat whether a clear sealer or a prime and paint. We can typically satisfy pull to length orders.
Douglas Fir – The douglas fir is a 1” x 6” vertical grain “board” with the edge and center bead profile. This providesa positive attribute of a vertical grain product with the beautiful look of the traditional front porch.
Western Red Cedar – There are two options of western red cedar 1” x 6” “V-Groove” tongue & groove. The “V-Groove”tongue & groove is similar to the edge and center bead profile. The 1” x 6” T&G is available in both aclear and knotty grades. The clear grade is a perfect option for painting or staining, whereas the knotty grademay be stained to keep the natural or rustic “wood look”.
